Craig

Craig is a native Buckeye.

Born in the early baby boom with an IQ of just over 43, he is considered the genius of the family. The rolling hills of Southwest Ohio provided the Mayberryisque upbringing for Craig.

It wasn't until the dreams started recurring that he found that his first guitar instructor was a pedophile. But, he has gotten over that and the periodic jerks occur infrequently.

Musical influences include Guy Lombardo, Lawrence Welk, and Dimebag Darryl. Craig says of his music, "Yeah, sometimes I get on stage and its, like, 1..2..3..4... But other times it is just 1..2..3..."

Allen

Allen is the founding musical genius of the band. He started in music just as the big band era was sun-setting.

Allen's first instrument was the spoons. Rolling Stone magazine once said of Allen's talent on the spoons, "Man, that cat can really play Sterling".   We are all  thankful now that he took up guitar and singing.

Just three notes of Allen doing an Elvis song, send women in to a swoon.  (Allen still sits for velvet Elvis portraits.)

Born in Mississippi, but raised in Louisiana on the bayou, this Cajun really loves the hot sauce.  His family lived across the river from Natchez in Ferriday, Louisiana.  Ferriday is where Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley and Jimmy Swaggart hail from.  Allen was fortunate enough to rub close to all, although Jimmy's fall from grace was a particularly bitter time.  Allen says, "I never want to lose my Mississippi connection with the likes of Elvis and Conway Twitty".

As a youngster, Allen migrated to Indiana with his parents when the swamp was cat-fished out.  Central Indiana is please to have him here.

Dave

Dave is the veteran performer of the band.  He has a vast repertoire of musical experiences, including big band, New Orleans jazz, Appalachian Bluegrass and, of course, his favorite, heavy metal.

Born in New Jersey, Dave became comfortable around the hoodlums who ran the neighborhood.  His first job of any substance was running numbers for the local mob boss.  The mob connections lead to all sorts of opportunities in the music field.  Allen's loan from Harry the Mole led to Dave's entrance to Crossfire.

Dave's current passion is World X-treme Wrestling.  He really gets into the women's division and knows the stable by heart.  So, as all the band members have learned, be careful when you shake hands with Dave because you might end up on the mat in a choke hold.

As mentioned earlier, Dave loves metal music.  His first band of note was the Angry Demon Death Lizards hailing out of Camden, New Jersey.  The band had several FM hits and toured Europe and Asia.  Dave was really disheartened when he was forced to leave the band due to an acquired allergy to spandex.

Today, though, he still sports a large wardrobe of black leather and spikes.

As a bass player he really loves the big bottoms and he translates for the drummer.  New Jersey's loss is Indiana's gain.

Kenny

Kenny is the newest addition to Crossfire.  He started with the band in January 2006.  Originally from Southside Chicago, Kenny is very familiar with the blues.  His first band, back in high school was a hot blues band called Richard Noggin and the Blues Blowers.  The band was in high demand at such hot spots as Tyrone and Thelma’s Blues Palace.  After college (MIT 1979) Kenny traveled around the United States taking odd jobs and always playing music.  Taking jobs in several traveling bands, Kenny gained a reputation of always pleasing the crowds.  Fans of the female persuasion could always be heard chanting “Go Kenny Go!”  He always seemed to please.  There was a seven year period in the mid 1970’s that we know nothing of.  Kenny will not talk about.  We speculate that either he lost the years or was undercover FBI.  Whatever…he knows more about cable than anyone we know.

Musical influences include all genres.  His favorite song is Clifton Chiner’s “I’m a hog for you, Baby.”  (He actually does a stirring rendition on the accordion).  Primary music influence is the blues.  Kenny eats, sleeps and dreams blues.  Lightening Hopkins, Little Sam, Robert Johnson and Albert and BB King are among the entertainers influencing his music.  Central Indiana is lucky to have Kenny in our midst.

Ray J

Ray J is the skinnyest  member of the CrossFire family.

Born is Southern Georgia as Ray C. Jagermiester, his early years were spent with his poor itinerate farming family.  His father left for greener pastures and Ray's momma made ends meet by washing rich peoples clothes.

Struck by a mysterious illness, (and mainly due to the lack of eyeballs), Ray lost his sight at the age of 11.  He was sent to a school for the blind where he stayed until embarking on his musical career.

Ray became an overnight hit on the R&B circuit.  But, he quickly tired of the limelight and sought quieter pastures.

In early 2004, Ray faked his death and slid out of the limelight.  Luckily for the CrossFire band, he chose central Indiana to hide out and continue with his love of music.

Now called Ray J, he fronts the CrossFire Band at every gig.  Known as a lady's man he is a real hit with the groupies (they call him the man with the bone).  As the picture shows, he battles with the demon anorexia nervosa.  Now, with daily psychotherapy, he is more confident with his appearance.  Anyone who bugs him gets the moniker "Hit The Road Jack".  Never one to look back, Ray J sits and sings his favorite songs each and every show.
